Asantii, a Rwandan fashion house, has won an award after outperforming more than 760 other fashion brands from around the world that had been invited by Showroom Etc.

Among those brands, Asantii was selected as one of five African brands that showcased their clothing at Coterie New York, a renowned international fashion trade show.

While all the selected brands were given the opportunity to present their designs and explain their production processes, Asantii received the ‘2024 Rising Sustainable Brand’ award.

Asantii runs a sustainability program called ‘Ubuntu’, which prioritizes environmentally friendly production methods and the well-being of its employees.

The management of Asantii expressed their excitement over the award, stating that it reflects the impact of their efforts toward environmental sustainability.

Asantii was founded by Mbonyumutwa Mukangabo Maryse and aims to promote Africa’s fashion industry to a level where it can compete globally.

The brand brings together 14 fashion designers from 12 African countries, including Amal Belcaid (Morocco), Martin Kadinda (Tanzania), Toni Grace (Rwanda), Soraya de Piedade (Angola), Emmanuel Okoro (Nigeria), among others.

Asantii has clothing stores in various locations, including Belgium, Nigeria, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Rwanda, the United States, and the United Kingdom
